Thank you for using a PENTAX OptioX digital camera. PENTAX wishes to announce the release of Firmware Update Software Version 1.01 for OptioX.
Firmware in this document is the software that runs inside digital camera

OptioX Firmware Update

Registered name	ox_e101w.exe ( For Windows 829 Kbytes), ox_e101m.hqx ( For Mac 984 Kbytes)
Applied product	OptioX ( Version 1.00 ) To check the version number, turn your camera on while holding down the MENU button. The version number will appear in the center of the LCD screen.
Updated firmware file	For Windows : LHA self-extract file, For Mac : BinHex type

Changes to V1.01

• “Automatic tracking AF” function can be selected from the Menu in the camera.
  Automatic tracking AF --- The camera keeps the moving subject in focus until the shutter release button is pressed fully.
  * This function does not work when the camera is set on Green mode, Fireworks mode or Picture voice.

Caution

• Only OptioWP users are permitted to download the firmware update.

Preparation of update

• Blank, formatted SD card (8MB or more)
• USB cable I-USB7
If you are copying the firmware update file to the SD card by connecting the camera directly to your computer.
• PC card reader or a computer with a PC card slot
If you are copying the firmware update file to the SD card using a memory card reader / writer.
• Please use the provided rechargeable lithium-ion battery (D-LI8) when updating Firmware. Make sure that rechargeable lithium-ion battery should be fully charged. If the camera turns off during updating due to lack of battery power, the camera will become inoperable. If this happens, a charge will be made for repairs even if within the warranty period.

• For Windows : ox_e101w.exe --- 829 Kbytes, LHA type, self-extracting files
• For Macintosh : ox_e101m.hqx --- 984 Kbytes, BinHex type, StuffIt Expander is required to

Extract downloaded file

The download file will be generated once the downloaded file is extracted by double-clicking Readme.txt: The text file that explained update procedure in details. Fwdc128p.bin: This is the Updated firmware.

Copy updated firmware to SD card

After formatting the SD card, copy the updated firmware to the route directory to the SD card
